Start with the head unit and this slider low, then bring them up. Sweeps and pink noise at full level can damage tweeters.

Sine Sweep

Log sweep from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The readout above shows the exact frequency as it moves.

Use for: rattles and buzzes, crossover points, finding where a driver drops out or cancels.

Correlated Pink Noise

Identical pink noise in both channels, like a mono signal. Loops until you stop it.

Use for: RTA, EQ, level matching left to right, checking that the center image sits on the dash.

Uncorrelated Pink Noise

Independent pink noise in each channel. Sounds wide instead of centered. Loops until you stop it.

Use for: averaged RTA measurements, stage width checks, spotting a channel that is out of polarity (the image collapses or gets weird).

Phase Check

Plays the same signal in both channels, then flips the right channel polarity, back and forth. The readout above says IN PHASE or REVERSED so you know which one you are hearing.

In phase should sound centered, solid, and fuller in the bass. Reversed sounds hollow, wide, and thin. If reversed sounds better, a driver or channel is wired backwards. Use the low tones to check sub to midbass polarity.

Zero Bits Gain Setting Tones

Full scale sine tones for setting amplifier gains with a scope or DMM. 0 dBFS uses every bit, nothing hotter exists on a digital source. Download these and play them from the head unit with EQ, loudness and bass boost off. Browser playback here runs through the level slider, so it is for auditioning only, not for setting gains.

Common use: 0 dBFS tone on a stock or aftermarket head unit at max clean volume, then set each amp gain until the output just stops clipping. -5 or -10 dBFS tones give extra headroom for music that is mastered hot.
